Philanthropy and Giving

Our world has developed in leaps and bounds, with exponential growth and changes on the economic and social fronts especially over the last century.

Yet, while the advancements in our civilisation are to be celebrated, we all know progress is not even and in some quarters exacerbated gaps.   There are segments in any community, country or region that continue to confront issues that threaten basic life – lack of proper sanitation, water shortage, health crises, education needs or deep poverty.   There are also pressing environmental concerns to address the negative impacts and strains that rapid developments in the past century have placed on our planet.

Thankfully, there are myriad organisations that had arisen, and continue to form, to meet these humanitarian needs, social and environmental problems.

If you are reading this, you are probably also looking for a way you or your organisation can contribute.  Perhaps you are wondering where and how to begin?

While a broad and ever-expanding range of charitable and social organisations is wonderful, necessary and welcomed, it brings with it some confusion and complexities in the giving equation.  It can be an enabler as well as an inhibitor.  Do you hear of others, or yourself, feeling doubtful and hesitant about donating towards a charitable cause, because of feelings of uncertainty as to the ultimate use of funds and impact?    Have you considered giving to a charity, while curious as to what other initiatives there are that target the same social problem, and you have no idea where and how your chosen charity sits among others?  Does it matter? Shouldn’t it?

Recognising these, Imtrove is dedicated to assisting intending givers, individuals, companies, family offices or foundations, and charitable organisations or other social enterprises, to bridge such gap and seek maximum impact.   We do this by assisting with research and proposals on grant-giving,  whether for a specific cause or over a selected spectrum; we help develop philanthropic plan, guide strategy and governance framework; we focus on developing knowledge and information on the philanthropic world; we advocate and support organisations towards achieving high standards of reporting and communication for charities and funding of charitable causes.    If required, we also engage in working with potential donors, individuals or foundations, in fine-tuning or implementing a giving strategy or plan, whether the goal is fully social or anticipates any financial return, whether immediate, longer term or legacy.  We may assist with conducting a review of relevant legal, structural, tax or funding issues or approach, in the context of specific donor circumstances or recipient needs.

And we are open to hear and explore any other ways you would like to give or contribute to these aims, whether it is financial, skills, knowledge, expertise or other resource, and where we could help or collaborate.

After all, our mission is to encourage and empower more to get involved.  Creating Impact, Creating Good.
